Relay for Life
On Friday the 29th of April, the whole school participated in a walkathon called Relay For Life. This was to raise money for the Cancer Council. Relay For Life is a chance for communities to recognise and celebrate those who have overcome cancer or are undergoing treatment, as well as the people who care for them. Relay also provides an opportunity to celebrate the memory of loved ones lost to cancer.
We had Sid the seagull come in and talk to us about how to be sun smart. He reminded us that we should always wear a hat, sun screen and long sleeves in summer to keep our skin healthy. At the end of the relay, the teachers chose 5 students to win prizes for the most responsible walking. It was such an amazing day and we had so much fun running and walking around the school.
Thank you to all those that donated to this wonderful cause.
Congratulations to the winners of the day.
