Term 3

Foundation

Within the first few weeks of term 3, the students will be focusing on running, with an emphasis on the starting position for sprinting. The activities they will be participating in include beanbag relays and games involving running races. The children will also be learning about vertical and horizontal jumping. They will be taking part in activities that involve challenging themselves to jump as high and as far as they can. As the term progresses, there will be a focus on fitness, flexibility and upper body strength. The students will be participating in a variety of activities that encouraged them to use their upper body strength. These activities will involve using the outdoor climbing equipment.

Also, please feel free to have a look the Blog for Foundation PE. It includes photos of the students participating in various activities planned and a more detailed description of what we have been doing during the previous fortnight. Comments are also much appreciated. I have included the link below for easier access. http://jacintaf.global2.vic.edu.au

If any parents are available to help on a Thursday during the PE sessions for Foundation, that would also be much appreciated.

Thanks, Jacinta Fitzsimmons
