Stages of the build.
There are three stages to the new building project.
Stage 1 is the building of the new Administration and learning area. This will take to the end of the year, with us hopefully moving in before Christmas.
Stage 2 is the redevelopment of the hall, music and art area and the demolition of the building the houses the library and three classrooms. At this time I do not know how long this will take.
Stage 3 involves the removal of the administration building, landscaping and the building of two new basketball courts.
During this time, different parts of the school will be fenced off depending on the area that is under construction.
Here is the staging plan for you to have a look at.
The site fencing was erected Wednesday March 21 and the building started on April 4. Here's the site plan for you to download.
We will be losing access to one of the Jersey street gates. This will compound the busyness of that area especially when deliveries are being made. If you can use an alternate entrance that would be very helpful.
We will also lose access to the basketball courts and grassed area around the playground equipment. We are very mindful this will make the school yard busier. We have addressed this by putting more teachers on yard duty and creating some quiet spaces within the yard. This is something that we will closely monitor to ensure that the yard is a happy and safe place for everyone.
There will be regular updates on the progress of the build. If you have any feedback, suggestions on ways to make this work better please email Jill at firstname.lastname@example.org or drop into her office.
Building Project 4th May 2018
We are in a period of delay due to the discovery of previously unknown sewerage pipe in the building site. The architects/builders need to prove that the existing sewer line isn’t actually in use before any in-ground works can really commence. This should be finalised in the next few weeks.
