Changes to our Communication Processes

Dear Parents,

To improve our communication with staff and families, we have decided to adopt the full function of Compass. This will allow all communication to be delivered in one platform where all information can be easily accessed by all parents and staff at the school. The use of Compass is also used by our feeder schools Coburg High and Strathmore Secondary College. This will prove beneficial for parents who have children at both primary and secondary schools. 

Beginning 2019, Compass will be Coburg North Primary School’s only method of communication. All newsletters, notices and payments, as well as event information organised by the Parents and Friends Association, will be made via Compass.

Compass will allow you access up-to-date and meaningful information about our school and your child’s progress. Compass includes the ability to:

  • View communication (newsletters, mid week news, alerts)
  • Receive sick bay notification when your child has attended sick bay
  • Enter explanations for absences (or future absences) or lateness
  • Pay and provide consent for events and school fees
  • Download and view your child’s Semester reports
  • Book parent-teacher conferences
  • View the school calendar
  • Update your family contact details

What You Will Need to Do

  • Install the Compass app on your phone/computer
  • Check notifications
  • All payments to be made via Compass – no cash will be expected at the office#
