This is a fabulous concert where we will combine with schools from all over Melbourne to perform at the Melbourne Town Hall at 7.30pm on Thursday 8th August. The music comes from the Dhungala songbook, a collection of modern indigenous songs. The Artistic Directors are Jessica Hitchcock and Deborah Cheetham AO.
There is a student participation fee of $50 per student which covers the combined schools rehearsals, printed program, venue hire, concert production and performance T-shirt. This can be paid via Compass.
A specially designed T-shirt is provided for the costume at the event. It features
original artwork to compliment the theme. Students provide their own black attire i.e.
pants, skirts, stockings, socks and shoes to wear during the concert.
Students will attend two combined weekend rehearsals (Introduction and Polish
rehearsal) and one dress rehearsal on the day of the performance. The introductory rehearsal is an opportunity for singers to meet the Artistic Director/Choir Director and hear the songs for the first time as a group. By the polish rehearsal, students are expected to know all of their songs from memory.
The dates are: Sunday 26th May and Sunday 4th August
Venue: Rosina Auditorium
1 St Heliers St, Abbotsford
Tech and Dress Rehearsal:
Held on the day of the concert. This is the final run through of the songs with the band in the performance venue. Students will receive their t-shirt at the beginning of the dress rehearsal.
Tickets: Tickets will be available online via Try Booking, over the phone from the Boite office and at the door of the concerts.
